It is the intention of the City to have this particular style of signal installation functioning for a period of about five years at which time it will be replaced by a permanent mast arm installation after capital improvements have been made to Sandy Lake Rd. itself Should any of these specifications appear to be insufficient to address this purpose, comments are welcome. The intersection is a "T" configuration currently with a STOP sign on Whispering Hills. There have been recent improvements made to the geometry of the intersection that provided for a left turn pocket in the westbound direction. The ,North side of the intersection there is a drainage ditch and the north property drains to the north whereby possibly requiring the poles located there to be longer. The sough side of the intersection had a box culvert installed that is mostly under paving near the actual intersection. There are underground utilities in the area but the power is overhead on the north side of Sandy Lake. There is a large telephone connection box located on the SE corner of the intersection and a known gas main running parallel to Sandy Lake Rd. It would be advantages if possible to locate the poles (& guy wires) outside of the future construction area of the Sandy Lake Rd. improvements. This may also be one reason to pedestal mount the cabinet instead of pole mount. Please provide an option for both types of installation. The installation shall include • Four (4) Wooden utility .Poles • Six (6) 1 W3 S Signals / LED • One (1) 1W55 Signal / LED • Six (6) Spans /Anchors • One (1) Service • All Wire / Cable including video detection • Two (2) Video Detection Installed (City Furnished) * One (1) Cabinet, Controller (City Furnished not including mounting hardware) The use of used signal heads and other span wire components will be allowed for this project. Any intent to use used components must be specified in the submittal and those components shall be uniform in brand, color and design to each other as well as to new components that may be utilized. All used components are subject to inspection by the City prior to their use and the City reserves the right to refuse the use of any component (iF 19 3C! FAX 97'2'2'45' "'99 F;DADWAV 4h 003 /005 that the City feels does not meet the criteria of a "good used component" or is not uniform as described above. The LED signal lights shall be those that are specified by TXDOT for span wire type signals. All LEDs shall be new. The cabinet, that the City will provide, is a small foundation mount cabinet that has had a bottom installed on it. The cabinet will need to be located on the southwest comer if it is to be located outside of the future construction of Sandy Lake R.d. The contractor will be responsible for all locates; work zone trs, ffic control per the TNIUTCD; and providing any proof of insurance, warranty documents, and bond as the City may require. d 7' WN, NOTES AMOtYIORAL STMIll WM AND POLE HEMT MAY K f"URM fOR SWPORT OF LORGERSPARS. cc AL J Mn rA WSSaM mcm itAir f cc JrRIT16 Mf1RaE.J W / V4 Lfl/Wv 1 V t•RVVYnVW\ F. ♦ . rr STEEL LASMG OR APPROVED fQUAt- •GROUMNG Of UTILM MES PER-NEC RE(WIRIMENTS VAN VARIES 2" RIGO MET RISER AND WEATHER 4-AiD 2.4 m i8' 1 STAN OW socWAI.K CUY (IF REQID) TO PULL BOX OR TO POLE MOUNTED CMIKT VIA METAL FLEX TUMG r r T 2- - -1 M 3W MU1, TRFATFO TIMBER POLE
