Steve, Freeport was closed to traffic on 11/22/89 with a scheduled
· reopening date of 2/1/89. Due to rain, snow, ice, and more rain
we have had to reschedule the opening several times. The month
of February had only six (6) non-consecutive working days due to
freezing and wet conditions.
I am pleased at this time to inform you that at 10:30 a.m. on today's
date, we have achieved the goal of reopening Freeport to traffic.
The project is at this time 48% complete and has used 46% of its
time. This project is on track and should be completed on or a
little ahead of schedule (7/1/89). The only difficulty was weather
conditions in regards to street subgrade preparation.
