MEMORANDUM
TO:
FROM:
Russell Doyle
City Engineer
City of Coppell. Texas
Paul A. Lipscomb(~
DATE:
March 16, 1989
SUBJECT: Bethel Road Drainage Improvements
Postal Site to Freeport Parkway
Construction Status
88157.04
As you requested, this has been prepared to provide a report on
the status of construction for the Project.
Field Survey
On March 1, 1989, our surveyors made a cursory field
survey of the Project to compare the actual construction with
the requirements of the plans· A copy of the results of the
survey is attached·
Horizontal accuracy varies from 0.1 ft at Station 5+55.49 to
1.5 feet at the Point of Tangency (P.T.) near Freeport
Parkway.
Vertical accuracy varies from 0.4 feet below grade at the
downstream flow line_to 0.08 feet above grade at Station
5+55.49. '~'-('$~ O- 3b,$z~)(~
The horizontal tolerances appear to be within acceptable limits
and well within the available easement. The vertical
tolerances also appear to be acceptable; however, the closer
the construction nears the exlstin9 concrete apron of the
existing upstream culvert, close tolerances will be essential.

It is my understanding from a conversation with Steve
Morton, today, that the concrete pavement on Freeport is
completed and the construction of the asphalt transition is
underway. His goal is to open it to traffic on Monday,
March 20.
After you have had an opportunity to review this report, please
notify me of any exceptions or corrections.
