Re: TXI Property at 3005 State Hwy 121, City of Coppell, Denton County, Texas
Dear Mr. Thompson:
As per our conversation today, the majority of the silt runoff is coming from the TXI Plant
located at 3005 State Hwy 121. After inspecting the site, the runoff travels south through a
vacant lot to the storm drain system along SH 121 and discharges into Magnolia Park's
Ponds. TXI has agreed to remedy the problem by installing a curb and a rock berm at the
back of their property to prevent future erosion and pollution.
The property owner to the south of TXI is being notified to remove any concrete rubble and
re-establish vegetation. This will aid in decreasing the velocity of runoff which contributes to
pollution.
~Ve have discovered the subdivision to the east of TXI, Coppell Greens #2, is also a minor
contributor to the pollution of the storm drain system. There is a common area lacking
vegetation on the west side of this subdivision which is causing silt to travel downstream into
a creek which eventually ends up in the storm drain system. Their HOA will be contacted to
remedy the situation by re-establishing the vegetation cover on the common area.
