Dear Mr. Marvin:
With regards to the 8'x5' of rock riprap as proposed in the construction plans of
the above referenced project, I do not feel that it is necessary. The ditch draining
away from the south end of the parking lot does not have an erosive velocity and
the amount of water leaving the parking lot would not be enough to create an
erosive condition at the pavement /grass interface. In fact, installation of the riprap
would be more of a maintenance issue because of weeds, debris trapped, etc. due
to the particular situation. Please do not hesitate to call should you have any
questions regarding the request to not construct the riprap.
