COPPELL PUBLIC WORKS
MEMORANDUM
Steve Goram, Director of Public Works
Steven M. Morton, Chief Developmental Ins
Bethel Rd~ Drainage Improvements / Status ~'~
Steve, Buckelew wili be delivering detour signage on Saturday.
Signs will be bagged. On Monday, the Contractor and myself will
verify the placement of the si§nage as shown on the detour plans.
After any adjustment or corrections (if any) have been completed,
the bags will be removed, barricades will be put~.in place, and.I
Freeport will be closed. If f~r any. reason the.~Signage~ can not'
be brought into conformancy with 'the detour plans, it will not
be closed until it can be brought up to specifications. I have
notified Paul Lipscomb of this schedule and ask him to have. a
representative there.
I also spoke to Paul in reference to some loose ends, primarly
Trench Safety Plan, Contract Quantity, and CPM charts. Paul said
he will have the above items delivered today. Russell will be
forwarded a set of Trench Safety Plans for his review prior to
excavation.
The major loose end is the testing of materials (concrete), density,
and proctors. These tests (by contract) will be.our responsibility
and expense. We have not selected a lab. George Holland has been
our Geotech representative for over 1½ years. I will be getting
George a set of plans Monday (after detour) and he will give us
a quote to provide services.
In April, Clyde Sifford contacted McClelland Laboratory on a ball
park price, they gave an estimate of $12,000.00. This was phoned
in quantities, they have not seen the plans. I will see about
gettin them a set of plans for a comparative quote on Monday.
We can also include Hooper Engineering, if necessary.
