per ASTM D1784, in accordance with the dimensional, chemical, and
physical requirements of AWWA C900.
Diamond {C9o0} PVC Pipe
bears the mark of NSF,

Diamond {C900} PVC Pipe utilizes a gasket, per ASTM F477, to seal the
.integral bell socket to the spigot of the next joint {which conforms to
the requirements of ASTM 1)3139,) Each rrtale end is beveled to
facilitate joint assembly, and the.spigot is referenced marked to ensure
`proper insertion depth. Diamond furnished lubricant is to be used in the
:joining process.

Sample Specification
Mechanical joint restraint shall he incorportted
into the design of the follower gland. The restraint
mechanism shall consist of x plurafln of individualty-
actuated gripping surfaces to maximize restrint ca-
pability. Glands shall be nutntifactured of ductile iron
conforming to ASTM A536-80.
The gland shall be such that it can replace the
standardized mechanical joint gland and can be used
with the standardized mechanical joint bell conform-
ing to ANSI/AWWA CI1 l/AZ1.1 I and ANSI/AWWA
C153/A2i.53 of latest revision. Twist off nuts, sized
same as tee-head bolts, shalt he used to insure proper
actuating of restraining devices.
The restraining ;;lands shall have a pressure rat-
ing equal to that of the pipe on which it is used. The
restraining glands shall have been tested to UN4I11 i-
92, be Sisted by (Indrrwriters Labontorics, and he
approved by Factory :Mutual. The restrtint shall br
the EBAA Iron Series 2fN)(IYV or approved ryual.
