Franchise Utilities Conflicts
Mr. Griffin,
On March 23, 2007 Rick O'Dell and I met with two of Verizons Construction
Coordinators, Olin Steel and Richard Trevino. What we discussed with them was the
conflicts that still exist with the new construction and the existing Verizon conduits and
cables. Olin informed us that due to some Right of Way issues Verizon had not done
any relocation work for this project, and was waiting for Keith Marvin with the City of
Coppell to call them back in, once the ROW issues had been take care of.
They also requested another set of the Bethel Road construction plans. Rick
called Scott and made those available for pick up that day; to date they have not
been picked up. They also said that they would get a contractor in the next week
and begin potholing their conduits or cables to confirm the exact location and
extent of any conflict. They haven't had any crew's onsite,
I went over what conflicts or potential conflicts I had found, and ranked them to
be potholed and relocated if a conflict exist.
1. 1600 pair cable North side of Bethel Road at four barreI6'x10' Box Culvert.
2, Cable or conduit at East side of Freeport where three barrel 5'x 10' Box
Culvert begins
3. Cable or conduit at all six of the Retaining walls at Post Office driveways.
4. Cable or conduit that is not deep enough for grade changes, Le. in front of
Duke property and anything crossing three barrel 5,x10' Box Culvert.

I talked today with Richard he claims he is waiting for work order from Olin so he
can bill time. I also talked with Olin and informed him on what Richard said. Olin
will look into what is holding up work order and get back to me. I never did hear
back from Olin.
Mr. Griffin it is imperative that Verizon mobilize on site and begin relocating their
facilities, before they impact the schedule more than they already have. Here are
