Re: POINT WEST VII - Request for Variance on Pavement Design
Coppell, Texas
Dear Mr. Griffin:
On behalf of Duke Construction, we request that the City of Coppell grant a variance to
the Subdivision Ordinance on the pavement design criteria for the Duke Lesley Addition
Lot 2, Block A. Duke wishes to eliminate the use of lime stabilization on this project in
order to save on cost associated with the pavement. In lieu of lime stabilization Duke will
increase the concrete strength from 3,000 psi to 4,000 psi in both fire lanes and drive
approaches, and the thickness of the fire lane will increase to seven (7) inches. In areas
within the public right-of-way along drive approaches the subgrade will be composed of a
minimum six (6)-inch thick flexible base with 7",4,000 psi concrete.
Thank you, for your consideration on this matter. If you have any questions or need any
additional information, please contact me at your convenience.
Sincerely,
V~/(L
