Northlake College-CS070605Page 1 of 3 Paula Crocker - RE: Northlake College Sewer Analysis From: "Jessica Brown" <JLB@freese.com> To: "Ken Griffin" <kgriffin@ci.coppell.tx.us> Date: 6/5/2007 2:06:08 PM Subject: RE: Northlake College Sewer Analysis CC: "Paula Crocker" <PCROCKER@ci.coppell.tx.us> Ken, We were not able to get in contact with the Northlake College people - we also tried to get information on water usage from other Dallas County Colleges through those cities directly (for example City of Irving) and did not get a lot of cooperation there. We did have water usage information for at least one Tarrant County College and used that as a reference. The usage information provided below seems very low (results in an average day water demand of 0.003 MGD) for the area we're talking about. We were looking at buildout for the college's proposed area. The usage data we pulled from one of the Tarrant County Colleges does not have any aquatic (or other types of) facilities that would have a significant impact on the water usage. I think if we're looking at a phasing in plan, this initial phase would not have the significant downstream impacts that we are seeing at buildout; however, if the College does ultimately take up the entire area they have purchased, we will see the downstream impacts that are discussed in the memo. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Jessica L. Brown, P.E. Freese & Nichols, Inc. I'm not sure if you ever made contact with them, as I requested, so I don't know how this information impacts your analysis. Brenda Spinelli, Project Manager for AGUIRRE + PARSONS and Wade Beasley Discipline Director. for Jocobs have requested that North Lake College provide you the ollowing information or the Coppell campus location. We estimated that we use 32.8 gallons per square foot per year at the main campus. The basis for this estimate comes from the 2006 actual meter water usage minus the aquatic center meter usage (they use about 2 million gallons a year). The total was divided by the gross square foot file://C:\Documents%20and%20Settings\PCROCKER\I,ocal%20Settings\Temp\GW} 00002... 6/5/2007 Page 2 of 3 minus the Librar~quare foot (because it is on a separate meter). We searched the Internet for some standard school use rates but couldn't find anything that compared to us. Therefore, i~you use the 32.8 gallons Ber square foot times the North Campus a~rox. 35, 000 gross square foot we would use aP~rox. 1,148.000 gallons of water a year. Please contact us ifyou have andquestions. Steve Schellenber~ Assistant Director Facilities Services North Lake College SO01 N. Thanks Ken Griffin »> "Jessica Brown" <JLB@freese.com> 4/11/2007 4:45 PM »> Ken, I apologize that this has taken longer than we originally planned - we nded up getting some decent usage data to use as a reference for potential flows from the College. a more we were looking into the proposed flows and options, we saw some significant surcharge is es and wanted to make sure we had all of our bases covered with the options we recommended. Pleas review the attached memorandum and let us know when you are ready to meet to discuss t e results. Jessica Brown, P.E.
