S~JECT: Drainage Complaint
431 Sp~ish Moss Court
As part of North Kaye Street drainage project, Larry Davis and Z had met
with Mr. Ken Mills, residing at 431 Spanish Court, as we had done so with
other affected residents, to inform him of the nature of the project.
Back in June, 1991, I received a phone call from Mr. Mills expressing his
concerns over drainage problems affecting his lot. Mr. Mills, at that
time, basically indicated he has no hope that North Kaye Street drainage
improvement would be implemented, since the City could not obtain
necessary easements especially along Spanish Moss Court, etc. I informed
Mr. Mills that we are working on this project full force, and that
construction plans are being prepared, while easements are being obtained.
Mr. Mills also indicated that drainage along the north side of his lot had
been diverted away from the street, due to regrading work done by Fox &
Jacobs. To our knowledge, lot grading on private property should be
separate from North Kaye Street drainage project. I told Mr. Mills that
staff will review his request for hauling dirt to his site, and will let
him know of the results.
As per my recant telephone conversation with Mr. Mills, he is requesting
that additional soil material, excavated for the storm pipe location
behind his house, be hauled to his site to be used for raising the side
yards. This is a new request and we will check on this and provide a
response.
Please be advised that I have faxed a copy of the final construction plan
reflecting this area to Mr. Mills' office. (See attached) Should you
need additional infor~ation about this metter, please let me know.
