With Hurricane Rita, are we still on schedule to have West Sandy Lake clear by January 3, 2006? Thanks Ken Griffin >>> <jbatesl@txued.com> 09/19/05 10:40 AM >>> Ken, I have been told that we can not make a commitment to start work by October 31st" however we can make a commitment to be completed by January 3, 2006. I have reviewed our schedule for West Sandy Lake and assumed that a contractor would not start a project like this during the holiday season. Using that assumption, I backed in a new schedule. Start project: January 3, 2006 Award contract to lowest responsible bidder: December 13,2005 (there is only one Council meeting in December) Open bids: November 29, 2005 Prebid: November 15,2005 Advertise project for bid: November 4 and 11,2005 Send notice to newspaper to begin advertising: October 31, 2005 October 31 st is the key date. At that time, TXU needs to be onsite or commit to the City that they will be clear by January 3, 2006. It's my understanding that it will take about 2 months to relocate the existing utilities. file://C:\Documents and Settings\rbrother\Local Settings\Temp\XPgrpwise\4337FB4FCity... 8/14/2007 Page 2 of2 If the above dates are not met, then the earliest I could go to Council for award would be January 10, 2006. In essence, there is at least one month lost time ifTXU cannot clear utilities by January 3, 2006. Please let me know at your earliest convenience concerning TXU's timeline. Thanks Ken Griffin >>> <jbatesl@txued.com> 09/02/05 3:45 PM >>> Ken, TXU Electric Delivery has deployed over 750 employees and contractor to help in the restoration of electricity in Florida and Louisiana after the devastation that Hurricane Katrina left behind.
