DR8802-CS 910401April i, 1991 TO: _ Alan D. Ratliff, City Manager VIA: ~Gary L. Sieb, Director of Planning and Community Services FROM: M. ~ D~n~sb~a~d, Acting City En~iueerA~~ RE: Kaye St. Drainage Improvement Larry Davis and I met with Derek Earle of Centex Development, his engineers and Carter & Burgess on March 25, 1991 to receive a status report on the referenced drainage design and survey layouts. (See attached memo from Carter & Burgess, Inc., dated 3/25/91.) Terry Mitchell with Carter & Burgess made the following comments: - The obtained survey data has been plotted and a detailed survey map has been developed along the north side lots of Kaye St. - A schematic design of the storm sewer system, which will handle a 5-year storm, has been prepared. - To minimize damages to existing structures and trees, the trench may need to be hand-dug in some areas. - The drainage easement and the construction of the storm system would more than likely be custom built. Derek indicated that once the storm system layout is set, he will then authorize his engineer to prepare the necessary drainage easement documents and send them to the City for review and comment. The process of setting up meetings with the few home owners who have not granted permission for construction of this system along their properties should continue after a complete set of engineering drawings from Carter & Burgess has been received and approved. I am asking Larry Davis to continue coordinating this effort. Ne will keep you informed of the progress made and will confirm the meeting dates with you. Please let me know if you have any questions. cc: Larry Davis, Construction Inspector
