Explanation of this request: Addition of signalization at the intersection
of McArthur and Condor. ~lso, we are looking to add one Opticom receiver at
the intersection of Denton Tap and Parkway. This additional receiver will
activate when fire units are leaving station 123.
Changes/Improvements to current operations: This addition will allow fire
apparatus, housed at the McArthur Station, to safely gain access onto McAxthur
Road. Further, this proposal adds a traffic pre-emption device designed to
clear southbound congestion which backs up beyond Condor.
Consequences of not funding this request: Fire apparatus will continue to
enter onto M=Arthur with a high risk of personal and prope=ty damag~
potential. Also, we will continue to have elongated response times when
responding South on McArthur.

Positions/Equipment - No positions required or requested. We are h~wever
in need of a traffic control ~signa!) device and fundlng of $5,335
installation of Opticom traffic devices.
