Subject: Intersection of Mapleleaf Lane & Sandy Lake
Hello.
The intersection of Mapleleaf Lane and Sandy Lake Road has become extremely
dangerous. On the evening of Wednesday. November 8th, I was driving West
bound Sandy Lake and turned on to the paved patch between West and East
bound Sandy Lake. As I was coming to a stop to try to see over the barrier
I was hit hard by an East bound car, the impact caused me to hit my knees
on the dash and my chest to hit the steering wheel. The other driver was
not hurt and his car has significantly less damage than mine. When the
officer arrived, he mentioned that this was the 3rd wreck at this
intersection. My husband had difficultly last night trying to see over the
barriers and he's driving an F150 Super C-ew Cab. Adding to the difficulty
is the location/width of the temporary turn pad. When you turn into it,
you are facing a barrier and impassable area of the ditch so you must angle
across the road to enter Mapleleaf. This angle forces your vehicle into a
dangerous proximity to oncoming traffic. Also, that intersection has
little to no lighting.
While I know clos:ng the intersection would be an inconvenience to all of
us living or. Mapleleaf, we also don't need someone to die in that
intersection trying to cross the East bound lane or trying to turn off the
East bound lane into the very steep dirt ditch access. On several
occasions, both my husband and I have almost been rear-ended while trying
to turn from East bound Sandy Lake into the Mapleleaf Lane entry. Please
consider closing that access.
I would really like to discuss this matter with you. I can be reached at
work at 214-654-6126 from 8am to 3pm or at home at 972-393-5619 after 6pm.
Thank you for your attention and I hope something can be done about that
intersection soon.
Sincerely.

Hello.
The intersection of Mapleleaf and Sandy Lake Road is horrible again. I
cannot drive my small car across the pot-holes. Can this intersection be
paved over. It's extremely dangerous to pull in there even in a bigger
vehicle because the driver needs to come to almost a complete stop to get
over the pot-holes without causing damage to the vehicle. Thank you.

Hello.
I live at 906 Mapleleaf and drive a Toyota Corrolla. This intersection has
become incredibly dangerous because of the two huge pot-holes. To pull on
to Mapleleaf from East bound Sandy Lake, you have to come to almost a
complete stop to avoid the pot-holes and the center divider. I understand
that construction work tears up roads, but we should still be able to
safely turn into our street. I would appreciate these pot-holes filled in
with something that won't wash away in the next rain.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Susan Davis
