RE: W. Sandy Lake Rd. Improvements
Mr. Griffin:
Per our meeting on Monday, July 11, I have listed below the 2 options for the relocation of the
existing overhead electric lines currently located on the South side of the ROW ofW. Sandy Lake
Rd. as per your request. The 2nd option is per your request due to conflicts in obtaining the
required easements from the current landowners to allow adequate ROW space to place the
relocated line on the South side of the ROW.
1. Relocate line back on South side of ROW using wood poles and crossing underneath Sandy
Lake Rd. and using 3 concrete poles as originally designed. The cost to TXU Electric
Delivery is a total of $550,935. This includes $309,971 to relocate the overhead line back to
the South ROW, and $240,964 to relocate the underground lines to the new pole locations.
There would be no cost to the City of Coppell for this option, if adequate ROW is available.
2. Relocate line back on South side of ROW, but this time using underground duct bank system
underneath Sandy Lake Rd. and along the South ROW to property being obtained in an
easement from Coppell Bible Fellowship Church, at that point using the original design of
wood poles along the South ROW along the entire length of the project to SH 121. The total
cost for this route is $684,633. This includes $273,742 to relocate the overhead lines up to
and including the Church's property, and $410,891 to place additional underground from the
original crossing location to the Church's property. The cost to the City of Coppell for this
option would be $133.698, which is the difference between option 1 above and option 2.
These prices are not a rough estimate, but rather cost estimates that would be used to construct the
project should the City agree to pay the price difference. Therefore, unless something changes,
this price ($133.698) would be the price that the City of Coppell would pay in order for option 2
to be constructed as designed. If you should have any questions as to what is included in the
design, or for a layout of the expanded underground construction, please do not hesitate to call me
at 214/486-4245 or email atrbrewstl(1:1)txued.com.
Sincerely,
