Utility Delays

Please reviev-.. the following utility delays on this project to date. On 3-05-07 our
survey ere,\' verified the elevations of the existing sanitary sewer ot the prop05ed
4-0')( 10' hox clJh'ert crossing Bethel Rd. The elevations confirmed that the Sanitary
Sewer was in conflict \v1th the bottom of the proposed box culvert,
\Ve were (lriginally scheduled to shut dOVvTI Bethel Road on 3-7-07 and begin working
on the proposed box culvert but this was delayed pending a decision on the eonJljct \\'ith
the sanitary sewer line. Due to U1e limited time frame for completion \Ne shutdO\vn Bethel
and began excavati(l11 and preparation for the box culvert on 4~3-07, \vhile we ..verc
waiting on a decision. The decision was made on 4-26-07 to raise the bottom of the two
outside hoxes in order to maintain a minimum clearance over the sanitary sewer on the
West side, and an existing water line on the East side. During this time Venzon was
contacted several times to relocate their cable and fiber optic line in conflict on the North
side. Veri:wn hegan relocating their lines 4-23-07 and completed on 4-27-07. We were
delayed 28 dnys starting this work due to conflicts with the water and sewer. We were
delayed from 4-lJ-07 to 4.27-07 during the shutdo~n period waiting on Verizon to
relocate for a 10s5 of 1':1: days towards the bonus for comp1etjon ""itltin 45 days.
T~Ve were originally scheduled to begin the cast in place culvert along the South side of
Bethel. heginning at Freepor1 and proceeding \\lest on 4-23-07. Due to Oueor's power
p0)es. and the delays completing the Bethel Rd. crossing, Iowa Bridge began working on
the cast in place box on the West end. This work was stopped due to AT&T and
Verizon's underground cables. Onem completed removing the poles on 7-6-07. Verizon
began moving ~hc underground cables from the South side to the !\Iortb side on 7-16-07,
this relocation is not complete. We have lost 87 days. to date due to Veriwn in the area.

Due to above average rainfaJl during the months of May and June we have lost several
days on this project became, it was raining or it was too wet. Several days we were
limited to only working on the box culvert because, once the bottom ",:as poured we had a
solid surface to work from. We lost 13 days in May, lost 1Q days in June, and :'1: Days July
