Change in Bid Item'No. 16 from Pre Cast C-850 to Cast in Place SC-NA
Dear Mr. Sifford:
BuckeIew Construction Company would like to propose installing 230 LF of
SC-NA dast in place box culvert rather than the 230 LF of precast C-850
box culvert in Bid Item No. 16 of the proposal.
This would allow Buckelew Construction Company greater contrQ1 over their
construction schedule in the Freeport Pkwy. area of this project. Since the
precast company does not keep this size of culvert in stock, they would have
to manufacture the product after receiving the order from Buckelew Const. Co.
The earliest estimated delivery date would the be around November 7 with the
possibility of actual delivery date being November 15. The cast in place
culvert would be started October 24 and Buckelew Const. Co. would be able to
schedule their other work in this area based upon the October 24 date.
Buckelew Construction Company would be able to lower the price of Bid Item
No, 16 from $260.00 LF to $225.00 LF if the cast in place design is allowed.
This would reduce the amount of the contract by $ 8,050.00' making the total
contract amount $465,879.50 ·
