Dir. of Engineering & Public Works City of Coppell P. O. Box 478 Coppell, Texas 75019 Re: Village Parkway Pump Station Addition of Pump Number 4 Dear Mr. Griffin: We are now in receipt and have reviewed the Operation and Maintenance Manuals for the Benshaw motor control center and the test report of the cables for the Addition of Pump Number 4 to the Village Parkway Pump Station, submitted by Architectural Utilities, Inc. This is the last submittal required in order to final and close the project. By copy of this letter, we have forwarded six sets to Mr. Glenn Hollowell, P.E., for the City's records. Pump Number 4 was placed into service on June 1, 2000 and the project was determined substantially complete at that time with only the ancillary work and punch list items to complete. It is our understanding the final punch list items dated June 8, 2000 are now complete to the City' s satisfaction. Record drawings were delivered to Mr. Larry Davis on June 13, 2000 and electronic files were delivered to Mr. Marco Martinez at the City' s Engineering Department on June 20, 2000. As a reminder, on May 22, 2000 AUI made us aware of the conflict with the isolation butterfly valves installed under this contract and the existing steel pipe mortar linings. We responded with written direction for corrective measures suggested. Corrections were made to the discharge piping for Pump Number 4, but it is now apparent the isolation valves installed for Pumps 1,2 and 3 were damaged when forced open by City personnel and are not sealing properly. We are enclosing copies of correspondence with documents this Ot. rt~situation and recommended resolution. j:\clerical\coppell\1999-153\letters\constXk~final acceptance.doe Mr. Kenneth M.
