Dear Mr. Bennett:
For the above-referenced project, a review of inspection and testing reports
prepared by Rone Engineering Services, Ltd. (Rone) was performed at your
request. Items reviewed include Concrete Compressive Strength Testing
performed by Rone from March 29, 2007 through November 2, 2007. The
purpose of this review was to identify non-compliant items (per the project
plans and specifications) among those items that were tested and/or
inspected by Rone. After review it appears items tested and/or inspected by
Rone were in compliance with the project specifications at the time of testing
and/or inspection with the exception of the items noted below.

The only method of remediation for these items that will provide compressive
strength test results in lieu of test indications (compressive strength test
results are not available through Swiss Hammer and/or Windsor Probe test
methods) is coring of the in-place concrete for compressive strength. If you
choose to use this method then three cores should be obtained from each
location in question. ACI states that if the average of three cores is at least
85% of the required compressive strength and that no single core is less
than 75% of the required compressive strength then the concrete can be
considered as meeting the required compressive strength specification.
