The following are our responses to your review comments dated March 12, 2008
4.3 Accessible Route
Comment: Provide accessible routes: From the Pavilion to Heritage Garden Flagpole
area;
Response: Acknowledged.
4.3.3 Width
Comment: Ensure compliance at DG Pathway.
Response: Minimum clear width to all public provided facilities should be in
compliance. The DG will be noted as 3' -6" minimum in width.
4.3.7 Slope.
Comment: Ensure that running slope does not exceed 1 :20 and cross slope does not
exceed 1 :50. Section D-D on detail 03/ A5 indicates a cross slope exceeding 1 :50.
Response: Detail 03/ AS will be modified to comply.
4.3.8 Changes in Levels
Comment: None noted. If provided ensure compliance.
Response: There should be no level changes on accessible routes.
4.3.9 Doors
Comment: Refer to 4.13
Response: All doors should comply with accessibility requirements per 4.13.
4.3.10 Egress
Comment: All required emergency exits must be accessible, and extend away from
the building to a public way. Emergency exit egress route not provided at
Columbarium.
Response: will provide DO walkway from building rear exit.
4.4.1 Protruding Objects General
Comment: None shown or noted.
Response: There are no wall mounted objects within the Columbarium. The Pavilion
Building bas exterior light fixtures, which should comply with the 4" e~nded
maximum limit.
4.5.2 Changes in Level
Comment: Ensure Compliance.
Response: There are no changes in level exceeding the limitations set forth in this
section.
4. 5.3 Carpet
Comment: Ensure compliance
Response: There are no changes in level over W' in carpet pile or between floor
materials being used.
4.6.2 Parking Spaces
Comment: Surface slope information not provided. Ensure compliance.
Response: Maximum slope will be maintained.
4.7.2 Curb Ramp Slope
Comment: Ensure that parallel curb ramp landing does not exceed 2% in each
direction.
Response: Will provide note to detail accordingly.
4.7.4 Surface
Comment: Detail 03/ AS indicates both grooves and truncated domes. Grooving detail
indicates groove with a ~ and %". Texture must be detectable under foot. TAS
presently accepts grooves, ADA only accepts truncated domes.
Response: Will revise detail to only reflect truncated domes on ramps.

4.7.4 Contrast
Comment: Note 10 on Detail 03/A5, requires a contrasting finish from the adjacent
sidewalk. A contrasting finish complying with 4.7.4(2) is required to contrast with the
sidewalk and roadway.
Response: Will adjust note to have the full width and depth of ramp to have a
contrasting finish with the sidewalk and roadway.
4.13.6 Door Maneuvering Clearances at Doon
Comment: Pavilion non-compliant doors:
Doors 001,003,004,005 & 006 require 54" clear floor space if equipped with
closers and 48" clear floor space without closer based on Fig. 25( c) Latch Side
Approach.
Response: Closers not provided therefore doors will be adjusted to have 48" clear
floor space.
Comment: Columbarium non-compliant doors:
a. Door 004, 005 & 006 require 12" on push side and clear floor space
extended out 48" if equipped with a closer based on Fig. 25(a) front
approaches.
b. Door 007 requires 18" on pull side and clear floor space extending out to
60" based on Fig. 25(a) Front Approaches. Refer to 03/AI4.

Acknowledged and door will be made to comply.
4.13.18 Door Closen
Comment: If a door has a closer, then the sweep period of the closer shall be adjusted
so that from an open position of 70 degrees, the door will take at least (3) seconds to
move to a point 3 inches from the latch, measured to the landing edge of the door. If
provided ensure that all closers are adjusted to 51bs.
Response: Closers have not been used.
4.22.2 Doon
Comment: Refer to 4.13 to ensure compliance. Door swings shall not swing into the
clear floor space required for any fixture.
Response: Acknowledged.

4.25.1 General
Comment: If Pavilion Storage Rooms are considered employee work areas, then only
approach, enter and exit is required in accordance with 4.1.1.(3).
Response: Acknowledged. Doors to be modified to comply.
4.25.2 Clear Floor Space
Comment: Clear floor space at least 30in. by 48in. complying with 4.2.4 that allows
either a forward or parallel approach by a person using a wheelchair shall be provided
at accessible storage facilities.
Response: Acknowledged.
4.25.3 Height
Comment: Accessible storage spaces shall be within at least one of the reach ranges
specified in 4.2.5 and 4.2.6 ( see fig. 5 and fig. 6). Clothes rods or shelves shall be a
maximum of 54 in. above finish floor for a side approach. Where the distance from
the wheelchair to the clothes rod or shelf exceed lOin. the height and depth to the rod
or shelf shall comply with fig. 38(a) and fig. 38(b).
Response: Acknowledged, storage and closet areas do not have rods or shelves
within.
4.25.4 Hardware
Comment: Hardware for accessible storage facilities shall comply with 4.27.4. Touch
latches and U shaped pulls are acceptable.
Response: Acknowledged.
4.26.2 Size and Spacing of Grab Ban and Handrails
Comment: Grab bar not detailed per figure 39.
Response: Acknowledged. Specified grab bar hardware is in compliance with figure
39.
4.26.3 Structural Strength for Grab Ban and Handrails
Comment: Not detailed or noted. Ensure compliance.
Response: Acknowledged, note added to drawings.
