Current Application
Chesapeake submitted an application to drill and operate a gas well on a 2.15
acre tract of land located north of Bethel Road, west of the proposed extension
of Creekview Drive. The mineral lease area encompasses the 142 acre
Fellowship Church property.
Public Hearing
Per Section 9-26-7 of the Oil and Gas Drilling Ordinance, if the well is within 800
feet of any occupied building (not used in operation of the drilling site) a City
Council public hearing is required. A public hearing for this application is
tentatively scheduled for March 11, 2008
DRC/ST AFF REVIEW
A ttached is a matrix of review elements as required by the Oil and Gas
Ordinance. This matrix includes the ordinance requirements, department
responsibility and a space for review comments, as summarized below:
· Planning - General review and administration (notices, signs, etc.), site
and landscape plan review, department and consultant coordination.

Emergency Routes, etc.

Ken and I have full copies of the application packet. I have attached the
applicable sections for review to this memo. I should be receiving e-copies of
this pocket in the very near future which I will forward to our Oil and Gas
Consultant. I would appreciate your comments by February 7th. If no "fatal
flaws", the public notification process (mailed notices, notices in the newspaper
and signs on the property) will commence on February 11 th for the March 11 th
Council meeting.
