Polymer concrete is made from selectively-graded ag- gregates in combination with a polymer resin system. When combined through a process of mixing, molding and curing, an extremely powerful cross-linked bond is formed. Precast polymer concrete is reinforced with fiberglass for exceptional strength and rigidity. [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ [ r r Why Use Polymer Concrete? · Lightweight -1/10 to 1/3 the weight of concrete . High Strength - compressive, flexural and tensile strengths three to five times higher than traditional concrete · Reduced Installation Costs - easy to handle, no special equipment required · Stable Under Freeze/Thaw Condition!> · Impact Resistant - tested per ASTM D-2444 . Low Water Absorption - less than 1 % per ASTM D-570 . Corrosion Resistant - resistant to alkalines, acids, weathering and other forms of deterioration · Cost Effective - outperforms conventional materials for longer service and lower life cycle costs . Nonflammable - will not support combustion . Nonconductive - no grounding required for the box or cover Design Possibilities Precast polymer concrete offers a variety of design possibilities. · Development of New Parts - Years of experience enable QUAZITE~ engineers to produce custom designed parts to your specifications. · Size - Monolithic boxes are being made up to 4' x 8' x 4'. A complete firmware update requires only ten minutes, and does not require hardware changes or EPROM replacements. A back-lighted 4-line by 40-character supertwist LCD display provides full menu screens for ease of data entry. The display maintains an optimum contrast and brightness over the entire NEMA specified temperature range, using special temperature-compensating circuitry. The menu-driven format and context sensitive help screens eliminate need for programming instructions or look-up codes. The Model 980 Controller consists of only two printed circuit boards (three with optional modem) and an open frame power supply. The CPU/display board and the I/O board utilize machine tooled sockets for all integrated circuits for easy maintenance. An identification silkscreen on each circuit board clearly labels all components. No special tools or extender cards are needed for troubleshooting. The real-time clock maintains accurate timing by utilizing a "super capacitor" which allows accuracy of 0.005% during a 24-hour time period. Retention time during power failures for the real time clock is extendible to 30 consecutive days. Unique to the Naztec traffic controller product line is the flexibility of user programmable barriers. Four (4) separate batteries allow programming for applications from one (1) to eight (8) phases in each barrier. A 20-position keyboard containing 4 red function keys, 6 gray cursor movement keys, and 10 white digit keys with built in audio/tactile feedback provides user-friendly enhanced data entry. Built-in diagnostics provide for improved maintenance and easier repairs. Internal diagnostics allow operator tests on all input and output signals, RAM devices, and memory. A built-in EEPROM eraser allows for a "clear-all" memory function. Two RS-232 ports and an optional FSK modem port are available with each secondary unit. These ports are keyboard programmable with selectable baud rates from 300 to 19.2K with full and half duplex options. Various communication configurations allow the user multiple interfaces to other cabinet devices: conflict monitor, preemption equipment, detectors, WWV clocks, modems, notebooks, printers, etc. A RS-485 SDLC Bus Interface Port is provided for all TS2 applications. The NTCIP protocol is fully supported. TIle bending and handling characteristics are significantly better than any smooth wall or corrugated hard-line cabIes. . Flexibility and bendability are hallmarks of the LMR- 400- 7 5 cable design. The flexible outer conductor enables the tightest bend radius available for any cable of similar size and ped()l1nance. . Low Loss is another hallmark feature of LMR -400- 75. Size for size LMR-75 has the lowest loss of any flexible cable and comparable loss to semiIigid hm'd-line cables. . n.F Shielding is 50 dB greater than typical single shielded coax (40 dB). The multi-ply bonded foil outer conductor is rated conservati vely at> 90 dB (i.e. > 180 dB between two adjacent cables). . Weatherability: LMR-400-75 cabIes designed for outdoor exposure incorporate the best l11atetials for UV resistance and have life expectancy in excess of20 years. . Connedol's: Standard available connectors include type-N and lype-F male plug with 75 ohm interface. Most LMR-75 connectors are the EZ install type with crimp outer and non-solder center contact attachment. . Cable Assemblies: All UvIR-400-75 cable types are available as pre-tenninated cable assemblies. Refer to the section on FlexTech for further details.
