I/o Mapping
TS2 specifies the addresses of 4 "racks"
of 16 detector channels each, for a maxImum
of 64 detectors, Unlike a TS2 Bus Interface
Unit (BIU), the Autoscope Solo Mini-Hub TS2
c~.n emulate the function of LU1Y or all of these
racks without any hardware adjustment
In addition, the Autoscope Solo Mini-Hub TS2
derives 32 input chanrels--usually 16 phases
of red and 16 phases of green--from the TS2
T)pe 0 message to the MMU. This simple input
and output mapping allows standardized cabinet
wiring and simple menu-driven programming
of the Autoscope detection system and the
cont~oller.
Hardware
The Autoscope Solo Mini-Hub TS2 slides
freely into rack card guides havinganominal
slot width of 0.075" and a maximum slot width
(lfO.125."
The frontpaneJis minimally 0.090" sheet

coating. Analuminumhandle on the front panel
allows easyremoval iTomarack.Nominal outer
dimensions of the handle shall be 1" X 2-1/2".
The unit may be inserted oTTemoved from a
powered detector rack.
The Port 1 SDLC bus connector on the front
panel has femalegold-plated contacts and latch-
ing blocks to mate with a male 15-pin D type
cable connector equipped with spring latches
Uunp part number 745012-1 or equivalent).
Four tri-color indicators show the status of
communications and the health of four Solo
MVPs at a time for easy set up andmainten-
ance. A switch changes these same indicators
to the next four Solo MVPs. Two red LED
indicators show transmit and valid data status
of the SDLC bus. Sixteen red LED indicators
show the state of each of 32 input or 64 output
channels as selected in turn by the switch.

Precast Polymer Concrete
What Is Polymer Concrete?
Polymer concrete is made from selectively-graded ag-
gregates in combination with a polymer resin system. When
combined through a process of mixing, molding and curing, an
extremely powerful cross-linked bond is formed. Precast polymer
concrete is reinforced with fiberglass for exceptional strength
and rigidity.

r
r
Why Use Polymer Concrete?
· Lightweight -1/10 to 1/3 the weight of concrete
. High Strength - compressive, flexural and tensile strengths
three to five times higher than traditional concrete
· Reduced Installation Costs - easy to handle, no special
equipment required
· Stable Under Freeze/Thaw Condition!>
· Impact Resistant - tested per ASTM D-2444
. Low Water Absorption - less than 1 % per ASTM D-570
. Corrosion Resistant - resistant to alkalines, acids,
weathering and other forms of deterioration
· Cost Effective - outperforms conventional materials for
longer service and lower life cycle costs
. Nonflammable - will not support combustion
. Nonconductive - no grounding required for the box or
cover
Design Possibilities
Precast polymer concrete offers a variety of design
possibilities.
· Development of New Parts - Years of experience enable
QUAZITE~ engineers to produce custom designed parts to
your specifications.
· Size - Monolithic boxes are being made up to 4' x 8' x 4'.
Pads for cabinets or equipment enclosures are currently
being made as small as 25" x 38" and as large as 93" x
93" and even larger when bolted together. If other sizes are
required, contact your local QUAZITE@ representative.
· Composite Design - An experienced staff is available to
assist in the development of specifications and design of
products.
· Custom Accessories - Many options are available for
QUAZITE@ products, including racking and struts, knockouts,
holes, logos, terminators, gaskets, pulling eyes, and
numerous other options. Please see pages 51 - 56 for a
complete listing of options.
The strong polymer concrete construction allows QUAZIT~ enclosures
to be stacked for even greater depths.

FEA TURES
The Model 980 Controller is easily configured to various firmware versions by the
utilization of FLASH PROMS which eliminate the need for obsolete EPROM
technology. A complete firmware update requires only ten minutes, and does not
require hardware changes or EPROM replacements.
A back-lighted 4-line by 40-character supertwist LCD display provides full menu
screens for ease of data entry. The display maintains an optimum contrast and
brightness over the entire NEMA specified temperature range, using special
temperature-compensating circuitry. The menu-driven format and context sensitive
help screens eliminate need for programming instructions or look-up codes.
The Model 980 Controller consists of only two printed circuit boards (three with
optional modem) and an open frame power supply. The CPU/display board and the
I/O board utilize machine tooled sockets for all integrated circuits for easy
maintenance. An identification silkscreen on each circuit board clearly labels all
components. No special tools or extender cards are needed for troubleshooting.
The real-time clock maintains accurate timing by utilizing a "super capacitor" which
allows accuracy of 0.005% during a 24-hour time period. Retention time during power
failures for the real time clock is extendible to 30 consecutive days.
Unique to the Naztec traffic controller product line is the flexibility of user
programmable barriers. Four (4) separate batteries allow programming for applications
from one (1) to eight (8) phases in each barrier.
A 20-position keyboard containing 4 red function keys, 6 gray cursor movement keys,
and 10 white digit keys with built in audio/tactile feedback provides user-friendly
enhanced data entry.
Built-in diagnostics provide for improved maintenance and easier repairs. Internal
diagnostics allow operator tests on all input and output signals, RAM devices, and
memory. A built-in EEPROM eraser allows for a "clear-all" memory function.
Two RS-232 ports and an optional FSK modem port are available with each secondary
unit. These ports are keyboard programmable with selectable baud rates from 300 to
19.2K with full and half duplex options. Various communication configurations allow
the user multiple interfaces to other cabinet devices: conflict monitor, preemption
equipment, detectors, WWV clocks, modems, notebooks, printers, etc. A RS-485
SDLC Bus Interface Port is provided for all TS2 applications. The NTCIP protocol is
fully supported.

For nearly two decades, Microwave Data Systems (MDS) has been providing highly
secure, industrial strength mission critical wireless communications solutions for
a broad spectrum of public and private sector clients worldwide. With an installed
base approaching 1,000,000 radios in 110 countnes, MDS offers both licensed and
license-free solutions with applications in SCADA, telemetry, public safety, telecom-
munications, and online transaction markets,
Product Overview
The MDS 9810 offe-rs a narrow band, frequency hopping, spread spectrum radio
giving increased throughput, long range alternatives to our customers' pornt to
multipoint needs. Transparent and direct asynchronous communication offer real-
time communication. No extra software or programming is needed to implement
communications from standard asynchronous protocols.
The MDS 9810 can be used with a licensed MDS radio system or independently. It is
field configurable as a master or remote radio, When operating as the master station
it controls all network parameters of the remotes; when operating as a remote radio
in the network, peer to peer communication is enabled as well. This product is avail-
able for use in Class I, Division 2, Groups A, 8, C & 0 hazardous locations:
Why Consider a MDS 9810 Solution?
High system performance and data integrity! Through robust construction,
digital signal processing technology (DSP) with self-equalization and forward error
correction we offer up to 19.2 kbps data throughput.
Flexibility and rapid installation! Quick return on investment due to simple instal-
lation, license free radio design as well as ability to communicate with any asynchro-
nous protocol without extra software or extra programming. A single MDS 9810 can

TI M ES MICROWAVE SYSTEMS
A Smlllls Group pic company
Ideal for...
· Video Applications-CCTV, CATV, baseband or broadband
· in-Building Feeder Runs
· Any 7S ohm Wireless Application requiring an easily routed,
low loss RF cable
· LIVIR -75 standard is a UV Resistant Polyethylene
jacketed cable designed for 20-year service outdoor use.
TIle bending and handling characteristics are significantly
better than any smooth wall or corrugated hard-line
cabIes.
. Flexibility and bendability are hallmarks of the LMR-
400- 7 5 cable design. The flexible outer conductor enables
the tightest bend radius available for any cable of similar
size and ped()l1nance.
. Low Loss is another hallmark feature of LMR -400-
75. Size for size LMR-75 has the lowest loss of any
flexible cable and comparable loss to semiIigid hm'd-line
cables.
. n.F Shielding is 50 dB greater than typical single
shielded coax (40 dB). The multi-ply bonded foil outer
conductor is rated conservati vely at> 90 dB (i.e. > 180
dB between two adjacent cables).
. Weatherability: LMR-400-75 cabIes designed for
outdoor exposure incorporate the best l11atetials for UV
resistance and have life expectancy in excess of20 years.
. Connedol's: Standard available connectors include
type-N and lype-F male plug with 75 ohm interface. Most
LMR-75 connectors are the EZ install type with crimp
outer and non-solder center contact attachment.
. Cable Assemblies: All UvIR-400-75 cable types are
available as pre-tenninated cable assemblies. Refer to
the section on FlexTech for further details.
