IH-30 Tom Landry Freeway - Dallas, Texas
Kiewit was awarded this $112 million project to widen and reconstruct a section
of IH-30. The work involved almost 4.5 miles of reconstruction to create four
lanes in each direction, reconstruction of 11 bridges, construction of retaining
walls, and drainage enhancements. To minimize inconvenience to the public
and to the nearly 150,000 daily motorists, Kiewit worked with TxDOT to
re-phase the original 54-month project to a 30-month scheduled completion.
High Five Interchange - Dallas, Texas
The $261 million Dallas High Five project is a five-level interchange at the
intersection of US 75 Central Expressway and IH 635 LBJ Freeway. The
project involved the construction of 43 bridges covering 2.3 million square
feet, 630 columns and 591,000 square feet of concrete paving. The High
Five project is one of the largest interchanges ever awarded by TxDOT.
SH 45/Loop 1 Interchange - Williamson County, Texas
A Zachry and Kiewit joint venture was awarded the $81 million contract to
build a new interchange at SH 45 and Loop 1, the first in a series of projects
on the 65-mile, $2.9 billion Central Texas Turnpike. With more than 1.5 million
square feet of direct-connect bridge structures, the purpose of this project
was to significantly reduce congestion in the North Austin area.
Travis County Loop 1 - Austin, Texas
A Zachry and Kiewit joint venture was awarded this project to extend the
existing MoPac Expressway (Loop 1) to intersect with the future SH-45. Work
on this $129 million project included construction of 3.4-mile, six-lane highway
with intermittent frontage roads; a four-level intersection to connect the two
roadways; three toll ramps and a toll plaza for Austin's gateway to the Central
Texas Turnpike.
1-10 Katy Freeway - Houston, Texas
Selected by TxDOT, PB Americas Inc. is general engineering consultant
for the $2.8 billion IH-10 reconstruction. The project includes rebuilding
and adding seven lanes to more than 22 miles of freeway and three major
interchanges. Four high occupancy/toll lanes and an integrated traffic
monitoring and management system are also in the project scope. As GEC,
PB operates as an extension of TxDOT overseeing the entire design phase.
