Chaucer Estates Pond
I met with a contractor today at the pond. We discussed the dredging project we have in mind. He indicated that based on
the 1997 report it appeared we had between 8 and 10 feet of depth before we even got to the layer of silt. He first
wondered why we would want to dredge the pond. He said most people don't dredge a pond until the silt was visible from
the surface, or aquatic growth became a problem. I told him my task was to execute the project.
He indicated that he would like to get his boat out there next week to check the depth as a means of verifying the quantity
of material calculated in 1997. Should we seek permission from the HOA for this activity?
Based on the estimated cost we will need to prepare bid documents and go out to bids on this project.
