This PYC water pipe has a smooth interior that stays smooth over long years of serv- ice with no loss in carrying capacity. Its coefficient of flow is C -= 150 ( H&W )-the best available in common use in water systems. This capacity often allows sav- ings in pumping costs as well as savings on the size of pipe required. i;';.;;;';;rl I .FIE tlD .... Seated in a deep groove, the flexible elastomeric ring provides a tight seal that protects the line from shock, vibration, earth movement and compensates for expansion and con- traction of pipe lengths. And there's no field mixing or application of cement. It's a simple push-together joint that remains tight under normal operating conditions. Factory installed rubber sealing ring pro- vides tight. flexible seal. Spigot pipe ends are supplied from factory with bevels. Resilient wiper seal between hold-down nut and operating nut prevents water entfY to protect operating nut from freezing. Wiper seal material is resistanllo ultra-violet ray deterioration. O-ring seal provides second level of protection. / o ANTI-FRICTION WASHER--- helps assure easy turning operation for the life of the hydrant. o MEETS OR EXCEEDS--- all applicable requirements of ANSVAWWA C502 Standard and UL 246 and FM 1510 specifications. o ST AINLES STEEL SAfl'ETY STEM COUPLING.-- pulls free if hydrant is hit by a vehicle preventing damage to the stem and main valve. Coupling will not break into pieces that could drop inlo lower barrel and affec valve operation. Top of lower stem is below the top of the lower barrel so that a tire cannot depress the stem and open the main valve. Repair is easy and economical. o O-RING SEALS AT BONNET, GROUND, AND SHOE FLANGES--- for better leak resistance, easier maintenance. o SAFETY FLANGE--- breaks cleanly to help prevent barrel damage, yet is strong enough to withstand nonnal handling. Allows economical repair, adding of extension section, rotation or changing of upper barrel without digging or water shut-off. ~' !~~~ Ji, .~\ \ 0 FIELD REPLACEABLE HOSE AND PUMPER NOZZLES--- Q-ring seaJed. Seat ring is easily removed or installed from above ground. Each time main vaJve is opened or closed, double drain valves force-flush both drain valve openings to keep them open for effective barrel drainage, Bronze drain valves are integral parts of main valve assembly. o SHOE DESIGNED FOR MAXIMUM FLOW AND EASY CONNECTION--- with its smooth transitional contours, extended neCk/ and integral anti-rotation pads, allowing use of standard tee-head bolts. The inside of the shoe is covered with MUELLER HP@Epoxy Coating. MISC.-MEGALUGS, DETECTABLE TAPE, COPPER TUBING, FLEX COUPLING, HYDRANT MARKERS 15 2000P\' JOINT RESTR.\INT lOR P\'C PIPE Sample SpecificatIOns Mechanical joint restraint shall be incorporated into the design of the follower gland. The restraint mechanism shall consist of a plurality of individually-actuated gripping surfaces to maximize restraint capability. Glands shall be manufactured of ductile iron conforming to ASTM A536-BO. The gland shall be such that it can replace the standardized mechanical joint gland and can be used with the standardized mechanical joint bell conforming 10 ANSI/AWWA C111/A21.11 and ANSI/AWWA C153/A21.53 of latest version. Twist off nuts, sized same as tee-head bolts. shall be used to insure proper actuating of restraining devices. The restraining glands shall have a pressure rating equal to that of the pipe on which it is used. The restraining glands shall have been tested to ASTM F1674-96, be listed by Underwriters Laboratories, and be approved by Factory Mutual. The restraint shall be the EBAA Iron Series 2000PV or approved equal. Llstmgs and Approvals Sizes 4" through 12" are listed by Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., category HJKF "Fittings, Retainer Type: with a deflection angle of five degrees when used on UL-Iisted, Class 150 PVC pressure pipe and a UL-listed appurtenance. The listing number is EX2B36. Sizes 4" through 12" are approved by Factory Mutual for use on approved DR18 PVC pipe. and sizes 4" through 10" are approved for use on DR14 PVC pipe and mechanical joint appurtenances. The 2000PV restraint exceeds all requirements of ASTM F1674-96. Patent Infonnation The products represented herein are covered by one or more of Ihe following patents: 4627774,4896903.5071175. Special Notes EBAA-SeaITLt gaskets are provided with the 30" and 36" 2000PV restraints to facilitate easier assembly of the mechanical joint, and are required on the above referenced sizes to obtain the pressure ratings and safety factors shown.
