DR9002-CS 890617 (2)June 17, 1989 Russell Doyle City Engineer- P.O. Box 478 Coppell, TX 75019 Dear Mt-. Doyle: At long last it appears our flooding problem has worked its way up your- "priority list". It is unfortunate that this initial meeting has been scheduled at a time when bo~h my neighbor" Susan Robertson arid I must be out of town. I find it ironic that neither of the two homeowners who suffer the wor"st flooding problem were contacted concerning the date o~ the pr'oposed meeting. Mark that up to efficiency of city services. As i have inf~ormed you on many occasions by phone, in writing, and in person, the single ~torm drain in oor alley is insufficient to handle all but light shower-s. Assuming the drain could handle normal and heavy rains, the grading in the alley pr-events the majority of runoff from reaching the drain before the alley overflows into my garage and home. Flooding of my property is not an isolated or rare event. I have lost count of the number of times I have swept water- out of my garage and vacuumed water from the interior of my home. I am enclosing a letter and pictures from Susan Robertson. Her" pictuces graphically depict the severity of the problem. Obviously [his is a very stressful arid emotional issue. I would like very much to meet with the S_udy Team on site. Hopefully the next meeting time will be better coordinated with the homeowners concerned. Sincerely, Gary Hamr ick 141 Hill Dr. Coppell, TX 75019
