RE: Re: Parks of Coppell canal being drained?
Rhonda:
I called Ms. D'Amico and she is fine with everything now.
She says that all of the homeowners were calling her and she just didn't
have any info. And now knows that our work would not impact their wall.
I assured her that if we had even thought that our work would impact
their wall, we would have called them. Actually, we viewed the project
as work to our association's common property and whenever we do work to
our property, we have no obligation to notify association's around us
since it has nothing to do with them; however I do understand their
inquiry and wanting to verify no impact to them.
In any case, she is fine now that she knows our work had nothing to do
with their wall or their portion of their canal.
Sincerely,
Barbara Clark, PCAM

FYI - we did find out the details of the project by going to the site &
talking to Knight Erosion Control reps that day...they did not have a
permit to do this work, by the way. The original question came from
Enclaves HOA president's wife, Trixie D'Amico, who mentioned they also
need to have wall work done & could have gone in with you on the same
contract if they had known in advance it was planned. She expressed
concern, among other things, that work done near the end where water is
being pumped out of your part of the channel will further
erode/undermine their part of the wall. I think she would appreciate a
call from you. Her number is 972-393-9188.

Dear Rhonda:
Yes, the HOA is doing some work on the wall at the far end of the canal;
near the spillway.
The wall looks like it is starting to break away and they are
stabilizing the wall.
Also, about 4 other places along the rest of the canal; towards Heartz
also have some sinking next to the walls; so that will be fixed also.
Please call me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
Barbara Clark, PCAM

Barbara, can you help with this question? The caller says the canal is
being drained on the Parks of Coppell end & wanted to know what is
planned because it affects the Enclaves too, since it is part of the
same canal. Do you know the scope of work that is to be done?

I got a call from the HOA president's wife from Enclaves subdivision.
She told me that the canal in the Parks of Coppell was being drained &
asked if we knew about it. She said last time this happened some work
was also done on the walls around the canal (same canal serves both
HOA's), and was anything like that planned for this time? I told her
Engineering Dept. had no plans to do anything with the walls, but I
would ask you and the management company for Parks of Coppell what is
planned.
Can you shed any light on this?
