ALPHA Report No. 080332-43
Submitted herein are results of our analysis of the pavement sub grade at the above referenced site. The exposed
pavement subgrade was sampled and ten (10) typical subgrade samples were obtained. Atterberg-limit tests were
performed on four (4) of the samples and a lime series was performed on the most plastic material. Results of the
Atterberg-limit tests and the lime series are attached to this report.
Based on visual observation of the exposed pavement subgrade, results of the Atterberg-limit tests, and the minimum
depth re~ui s in the project plans, it is recommended that the subgrade along all streets be stabilized with a
minimum f 4 rcent (24 Ibs per square yard for 8 inch thick compacted depth) hydrated lime (by dry soil weight).
Thl1...rnie application is based on a dry unit weight of 100 pcf (by ASTM-D698) typical for calculations in the
./-absence of proctor results.
/'
All mechanical stabilization should be performed in general compliance with the City of Copell Standards and
Specifications. We appreciate the opportunity to be of service on this project and if we can be of further assistance,
please call upon us.
