SUBJECT: City Council Meeting, July 28, 1992
The regular city Council meeting will be on Tuesday, July 28, 1992,
and we are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. with the Executive Session.
The Work Session will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by the Regular
Session at 7 p.m.
We have asked Vivyon Bowman to address the Council on the subject
of the Americans with Disabilities Act and the requirement to
recruit citizens who will participate in evaluating City facilities
for compliance with this act. As indicated in Mr. Bowman's
memorandum, he has names of three individuals who were recommended
by the Texas Governor's Committee on People with Disabilities;
however, we are asking you to review these names as well as provide
other names and suggestions for citizens who could assist in this
effort. Mr. Bowman will ask for your suggestions during this
discussion.
We have included the Barbara Austin drainage issue on your regular
agenda for your consideration and action. We have asked Ken
Griffin to explore other alternatives for funding this project,
such as possible participation with the property owner or some
future assessment agreement. He will discuss any alternatives with
Ms. Austin before the meeting and will present those alternatives
at your meeting. We will also ask the City Attorney to prepare a
response to Councilman Weaver's request for information about the
water codes as they may relate to this issue.

We have received copies of the new amendments and ordinances for
the Code of Ordinances books. We ask that you bring your Code
books with you to the July 28 Council meeting and give them to
Ms. Timmons. We will insert these new sections and return the
books to you at the next meeting.
