Toll highway opens up

TollTag. Ramp tolls will cost
between 21 cents and 66
cents for TolITag users, and
96 cents and 40 cents for all
others Vehicles with more
than two axles will pay high-
er tolls.
Fees along SH 121 from
Denton Tap Road to Old
Denton Road, which IS
already open to traffic,
increased Monday from up
to 4 cents for TolITag users
and up to 13 cents for all
other drivers. The tolls are
increasmg so the NTIA 'h1ll
conform to the regional toll
policy listed in the SH 121
project agreement.
The toll way does not
have any toll collection
booths. VehIcles must
either use a TollTag, whIch
deducts tolls from
accounts. or ZlpCash,
which takes a photo of the
license plate and mails a bill
to the driver.
TIle newly opened seg-
ment of SH 121 is part of a
$639 million project that
spans 26 miles from
Business 121 in LewisviUe to
Medical Center Drive in
McKinney. The next seg-
ment, from Hillcrest Road to
Hardin Boulevard, is expect-
ed to be complete in January
2010 The entire project is
expected to be fmished in
2012
