GSWW, Inc. 11117 Shady Trail Dallas, Texas 75229 RE: Deforest Road Construction Plan Review Comments Dear Mr. Degroot: The City of Coppell has reviewed the referenced plans and has the following comments to offer: Cover Sheet - I. Make the necessary changes to the cover page, including the title, appropriate Mayor and Council names, and project number. 2. Include the suggested plans such as traffic control, demolition/removal, typical notes/section, and stripinglsignage in the next review. The suggested plans are noted on the sheet index block. Pavin2: Plan and Profile - 3. Limit redundancy on notes and callouts, for example, "Per Std. Detail." Include in general notes "refer to City ofCoppell Standard Details and Subdivision Ordinance." 4. Show the existing centerline roadway. 5. Include elevations at all street and driveway tie-ins. 6. If possible, move the sidewalk off the back of curb. 7. Show the conduit layout for the traffic light. 8. Include elevations points at stations in 50 ft increments on plans. 9. Re-examine possibly raising the elevation of the road and parabolic curve points. 10. Consider the possible placement of the road further south. Doing so may be complemented by the proposed retaining wall on the south side. II. Remove the duplicate paving profile to limit confusion and conserve space. 12. Re-examine the low points at Sta. 1 +28 and Sta. 3+25. . 13. Include the intersection layout of Deforest Rd. and MacArthur Blvd. on the plan. 14. What is proposed between the wood fence and the retaining wall? 15. Does the road design allow space for overhead electric relocates? 16. Does the proposed retaining wall located approximately at Sta. 19+00 allow the trees to be salvaged? 18. It may be necessary to saw cut beyond the work area located at Sta. 26 + 00. 19. Allow proposed sidewalk to be accessible for additional sidewalk along Sta. 31 + 82. Water Plan and Profile- 20. Include any water lines additions or modifications on water plan and profile. Storm Sewer Plan and Profile - 21. Consider relocating portion of storm drain to allow traffic flow on northern portion of the road. 22. Show how the proposed storm drain will tie into the existing located approximately at Sta. 0 +00 on Sheet 20 of 30. 23. Include existing utilities to show the tie-ins. 24. Show utility crossings on profiles. 25. Reexamine whether retaining a storm ditch on the south side of Deforest Road is feasible. Elaborate on depth of storm ditch if maintained in design. Pavin2; and Driveway Cross Sections - 26. Cross sections should encompass entire right-of-way, which includes the alley, right- of-way. Cross Sections- 27. Increase the size of the cross sections. Details- 28. Provide detail for a combination inlet. 29. Include,! detail showing the removal and replacement of brick paver driveway connecting to the concrete approach. 30. Provide a detail of the retaining wall and pedestrian rail along Sta. 30 + 00. There may be additional comments throughout the plans that should be addressed. Please make the necessary changes and submit these marked-up plans and two sets of revised plans to the City for review. If you have any questions, please contact this office at your convemence.
