Re: Coppell Road ST 00-03
Sequence
Mr. Marvin,
We propose changing the sequence of construction as follows. We plan to keep
northbound one way traffic in the existing northbound lane while removing the existing
southbound pavement, including intersections along the west side and excavate to sub-
grade elevation. We will then install storm sewer laterals and plug the RCP for
connection in the next phase. Drainage will be maintained along the west side of Coppell
Road using the existing ditch, or creating new ditch lines where needed.
We will lime stabilize the proposed sub-grade 3.0' behind back of curb to approximately
6.0' left of centerline, or as far as previous excavation will allow. We will then place a
minimum 12.0' lane of2" HMACP flush with proposed sub-grade for northbound one
way traffic. The 12.0' lane ofHMACP will be placed from 3.0' behind back of curb to
approximately 8.0' left of centerline. Adjustments to these offsets will be made in the
field in the area of variable width paving and other areas as needed.
Northbound traffic will be placed on the 12' HMACP with proper signage to maintain
one lane of thru traffic, including intersections and crossovers to access properties on the
east side. We will remove all remaining pavement on the northbound side and excavate to
sub-grade elevation. We will install the proposed drainage and connect laterals previously
installed on the west side. Drainage along the east side will be maintain"ed thru new inlet
bottoms installed in this phase, the west side will continue to u~e ditch ~nage.

We will complete all remaining lime stabilization, and place one lane of concrete paving
12.0' from back of curb. Concrete mixer trucks will pour from the 13.0' area between the
12.0' concrete lane being poured and the 12.0' HMACP lane under traffic without
requiring traffic to stop, except for trucks entering and exiting the work area Traffic will
not be required to stop for mixer truck discharge.
We will then place a 10.0' lane of concrete down the center. Mixer trucks will pour from
the new 12.0' lane previously placed after proper cure time and strength is achieved.
Traffic will only be required to stop as trucks enter and exit the work area, traffic will not
be required to stop during mixer truck discharge.
Intersections, inlet tops and driveways will be completed on the east side and northbound
traffic will be switched to the new pavement along the east curb line. The 2" HMACP
will remain in place. And we will pour the remaining 12.0' of concrete pavement from
the 10.0' center lane of new pavement without requiring traffic to stop, except for trucks
entering and exiting the work area
We will complete all intersection, driveway and inlet tops to complete the paving on the
west side. Longitudinal construction joints will be 12.0' from back of curb on each side
in the 34.0' typical width sections and adjusted as required in the variable to 37.0' width
section.
Sincerely
