Halff Associates DRAINPR PROPOSAL FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES CITY OF COPPELL PHASE 1 DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS 1008.91.3915 SANDY KNOLL/SHADOWCREST - STAGE I AND SANDY' KNOLL/¥VOODHURST PAVEMENT A. Description of Project Preparation of conslxuction plans and specifications for paving and storm sewer inlets in front of 510 Shadowcrest Lane, storm sewer diversion at the Stream G6 outfall and replacement of concrete pavement at the intersection of Sandy Knoll Drive and Woodhurst Drive. This proposal combines both of the Site J projects shown in Phase ! of the City-Wide Storm Water Management Plan. B. Scope of Work Basic Services Phase 1 - Survey for Design · Set Control · Design Surveys Phase 2 - Design Services Prepare construction drawings Utility conflicts Inlet design Diversion design Pavement design Update cost estimates for final design Obtain plan approval from the city I staff meeting (maximum) 1 council meeting (maximum) - additional staff meetings or property owner coordination will be substituted if a council meeting is not required. SANDY KNOLL/SHADOWCREST - STAGE I AND SANDY KNOLL/WOODHURST PAVEMENT Phase 3 - Easement Documentation An easement may be required at the diversion into Stream G6. This task includes the preparation of a legal description and other easement documentation for one easement. Contacting the property owner is also included. Services Not Included in this Contract Bidding and contract award Contract administration Survey for construction Full time or half time resident construction inspector Consulting services by others except as noted in the Scope of Work Filing fees, permit fees and taxes Certification that work is built in accordance with plans and specifications Environmental impact assessments Survey for preparation of record drawings Printing of plans and specifications over and above those required for city review. C. Fee Proposal - Basic Services Phase 1 - Survey for Design Phase 2 - Design Services Construction Plans and Specifications Phase 3 - Easement Documentation $2,412.00 $5,041.00 $1,234.00 Total Basic Fee Proposal $8,687.00 The Basic Fee for the services described above will be based on a lump sum fee of $8,687.00. The engineering services will be billed monthly or at the completion of each phase, whichever comes first. The work will be invoiced on an hourly basis of 2.13 times salary costs. Salary cost as defined by the ASCE Manual and Report on Engineering Practice No. 45 is the cost of salaries (including sick leave, vacation, holiday and incentive pay) for time directly chargeable to the project, plus unemployment, excise and payroll taxes and contributions for social security, employment compensation insurance, retirement, medical and insurance benefits. Direct costs such as reproduction, sub-consultant services, long distance phone calls, deliveries, etc. will be billed at 1.10 times cost. Computer charges will be invoiced at 1.0 times cost. Easement documentation (Phase 3) will be scheduled concurrently. It is estimated that the easement(s) will be completed approximately 2 weeks after the conslruction plans have been submitted to the city for review. This allows sufficient time to incorporate any city alignment changes or review comments and coordinate with the property owner.
