Moore Road Drainage Improvements DR 93-03 to M-Co Construction, Inc.
in the amount of $316,908.00 and authorizing the Mayor to sign.
Date: May 28, 1996
On May 2, 1996, ten bids were received for the Moore Road Drainage Project. The bids ranged
from S316,908 to S515,197. The attached bid tabulation shows the apparent low bidder as M-
Co Construction, Inc. out of North Richland Hills. This project was designed in-house and the
total cost is shared by the CiLv and the adjacem properts,' owner, Standard Pacific, via a Drainage
and Escrow Agreement. In accordance with the Drainage and Escrow Agreement, the City is
responsible for $130,000 of the total project cost and the owner is responsible for the balance.
In 1993 there was an initial payment of $138.151.50. With interest, that amount is now
$151,833.57. Based on the bid submitted by M-Co Construction and the current value of the
initial deposit, there was still a short fall of $35,074.43. Standard Pacific has provided a check
in that amount to the City.
In conclusion, staff recommends awarding Bid #Q-0496-01 for the construction of the Moore
Road Drainage Improvements to Mo-Co Construction, Inc. in the amount of $316,908.00 and
authorizing the Mayor to sign.
Staff will be available to answer any questions at the Council meeting.

The City of Coppell reserves the right to delete any portion of this project as it may deem
