RE:420 S. Coppell Road Water Bill
Keith Marvin
As per your request, I am writing you this letter to inform you of a problem we had in September
with water usage at 420 S. Coppell. As you can see in the water bill, September's bill was way
out of sight for that property. I watered the property a couple of times, but it would have needed
me watering non-stop the whole month to receive a bill this high. The reason I feel we resulted
in this high bill is due to usage by the street crew while working on Coppell Road.
In August, I gave the workers permission to use both 420 and 412 to fill their orange water jug,
but only once at each location. Several times I came home from work to find my hose
disconnected after having used it the day before for watering baskets, plants, etc. This happened
several times and my husband, David Smith, caught wet spots where the faucet had been left on
while trying to mow at 420. Also, when there was a breakage in the water line, it caused a
problem in the commode and sent dirt in the tank which caused us to replace some parts because
it keep running. My husband discovered it and shut off the shut-off valve. I talked with the
foreman at that time to let him know what I had discovered and it stopped, but apparently too
late. The damage had been done.
I feel that we should not have to pay the full amount of this bill since we did not do this on our
own. If I had watered this much, I would not be writing this letter and complaining. I hope you
can find some way to help us with this water bill, since I feel part or most of it is the
responsibility of the construction company at that time.
Thank you for your help in this matter.
Sincerely yours,
Joanne P. and David E. Smith
