Dear Ms. Eells:
I am writing on behalf of Mayor Doug Stover regarding your letter concerning stop signs in the city of
Coppell. More specifically, you have requested that we consider placing a stop sign at the intersection of
Parkway and Copperstone Trail.
I have forwarded your inquiry to our Department of Engineering and Public Works for them to consider
your request. It is important to realize that there are many factors that are considered prior to the
placement of any traffic control signal. Certain conditions, such as the amount of vehicles per day
passing through the intersection on both the major street as well as the cross street are considered, as we
I do not want to install stop signs in places that would simply hamper the movement of traffic.
I would expect that you will receive some form of communication from Ken Griffin, our director of
Engineering and Public Warks regarding our determination of the need of a stop sign at this location.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish to discuss this issue further. Thank you for your
interest in the safety of our community.

Dear Doug Stover:
I am sending this letter because of my concern about the intersection of Parkway and Copperstone Trail.
I have pondered over this and I think we should put a stop sign there. And I am sure I speak for many of
the other people that live on the Parkway intersection.
This service is wanted because many dangerous and horrible things have happened on this intersection.
These accidents, such as two dogs dying and people getting hit by cars are things that a stop sign can
prevent. Plus, the people that are most likely to get hit are children out playing or teenagers. I bet the
neighborhood of Copperstone is willing to pay for half or even more of the cost forwhat it takes to get
stop signs in our area. Everyone would appreciate that very much.
The request would please everyone around us. Plus, you could be an even safer place for families and
friends. Even more people would want to move here because it is one of the safest towns in Dallas. We
wouldn't want the reputation of Coppell to be ruined.
Thank you so much. I can't wait to hear back from you!
Sincerely yours
