Meadow Ridge-CS090309 From: Rhonda Adloo To:info@selectmgco.com CC:Allana Lamberth; Debbie Ingram Date: 3/9/2009 2:19 PM Subject: Requests sent to City of Coppell Dear Sir or Madam: On Friday, March 6, 2009 several City departments had phone contact from the resident of Unit A2. The caller identified herself as "Ginta Thakkar" and demanded that we erect Crime Watch, No Parking, and No Outlet signs and speed bumps on the property. Because Meadow Ridge is private property, the City cannot come onto the premises to erect these signs nor install any type of traffic calming measures. I did not speak to the caller myself, but I have been asked to respond to her requests. Have you had similar contact with this resident? I wanted to give your company a chance to respond to me before I send the letter to Ms. Thakkar, because you may already have plans to address what she says are crime, traffic, parking and noise problems in Meadow Ridge. If she has not contacted you to request a solution for these problems, I will want to suggest in my correspondence that she may do so. She did not want to hear such suggestions from our personnel when she contacted us. I have been in contact with our Crime Watch coordinator in the PD to ask how one goes about getting one of their signs installed. Essentially, anyone can buy a Neighborhood Crime Watch sign to put up without having a "neighborhood watch program" in place. They cost between $11-14 and are usually placed behind the stop sign at the exit to the complex facing outward. Please contact RJ Harr, Community Services Officer at 972-304-7082 for details. As for the other sign requests, erection of signage on private property is up to the property owner. Also, any traffic calming measures installed on the interior of the complex must be approved by the Fire Marshal prior to installation, so that emergency vehicles can access all areas of the complex. There may have been other issues Ms. Thakkar brought up in her phone calls, however, these are the major ones I plan to address in my letter to her, once I hear back from you. Please reply to these concerns as soon as possible. Yours Truly, Rhonda Adloo Engineering Department Administrative Support Supervisor 972/304-3686 radloo@ci.coppell.tx.us
