The City awarded a bid in the amount of $100,221.75, budgeted in the In- frastructure Maintenance Fund, for reconstruction of Kimbel Kourt, in northeast <;:oppe1l. The bid was awarded to Jim Bow- man Construction Company. The Council also agreed to close South Coppell Road begin- ning in mid-July to through traf- fic from 400 feet south of Bethel Road to Southwestern Boule- vard to facilitate reconstruction of that section of South Coppell Road. City Engineer Ken Grif- fin said that closing the road al- together would result in a $40,OOO-plus savings in recon- struction cost. The project consists of the re- construction of the existing two- lane asphalt road to a concrete roadway, on-street parking along a portion of the road, and storm drain improvements. The project is slated to be complete in the spring of201O.
