RE: SOUTHWESTERN BOULEVARD - PROJECT NOTICE
(Project # ST 07-0 I, S Coppell Rd to Denton Tap Rd)
Dear Owner or Resident:
The reconstruction of Southwestern Blvd. from the intersection of S. Coppell Rd to Denton
Tap is due to begin soon. The project is being constructed as a partnership with a large land
owner to the south of the existing road, using private and public funds. The project has been
in the planning stage for a long time, and we are pleased to be near the start of construction.
As part of the planned project, the Grapevine Creek bridge will be reconstructed and a
dedicated left turn lane will be added in front of Pinkerton Elementary to assist traffic flow
in that area. The road will be a 41 foot wide, 2 lane concrete street with improved drainage
and a new bridge over Grapevine Creek.
Lacy Construction, the contractor for the project, anticipates the start of construction will
be early to mid-August. The project, as designed by the City and Halff Associates,
should allow for two-way traffic for the duration of the reconstruction activities. If you
