Archives & Central File Dates Used in Document Name
The date of a document is added to the code to complete a Document Name. Every
date has two digits for the year, two digits for the month, and two digits for the day. It is
necessary to place the year first to maintain proper date order in the directory. Starting
with 2000, it is also necessary to delete the space between the code and the date.
Ordinance Numbers
The first part of an ordinance number is the year it was approved. From 1956 through
1999, years have two digits. Starting with 2000, years have four digits. The last part of
an ordinance number is assigned in sequential order. There are two sequence groups.
The first group starts in 1956, ends in 1963, and runs from 1 through 33. The second
group starts in 1964 with 1 and is ongoing.
Resolution Numbers
Resolution numbers are based on approval dates. Prior to 2000, numbers have two
digits for the month, two digits for the day and two digits for the year. Starting with
2000, the year is first with four digits. The year is followed by a dash with two digits for
the month and two digits for the day. Different resolutions approved on the same day
are distinguished by a decimal point and number that indicates the order each was
approved.
Printing
We recomment downloading Acrobat Adobe Reader. It improves print quality and
allows scrolling directly through a document without the need to open each page.
