RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF
COPPELL, TEXAS TO EXECUTE AN INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
WITH DALLAS COUNTY FOR MAINTENANCE AND
IMPROVEMENTS TO CITY STREETS; AND PROVIDING AN
EFFECTIVE DATE; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN.
WHEREAS, the City of Coppell has requested that Dallas County enter into the attached
City /County Agreement for maintenance and improvement of city streets for the period
commencing on the effective date of this agreement through December 31, 2017; and,
WHEREAS, the City /County Agreement for maintenance and improvement of city
streets is consistent with the authority and purposes of Texas Government Code Chapter 791
relating to Interlocal Cooperation Agreements; and,
WHEREAS, the City /County Agreement for maintenance and improvement of city
streets defines the responsibilities of the City and Dallas County pertaining to the agreement;
and,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF COPPELL, TEXAS:
SECTION 1. The recitations and findings contained in the preamble of this Resolution are
incorporated herein by reference.
SECTION 2. The City Council of the City of Coppell, Texas hereby approves the City /County
Agreement for maintenance and improvement of city streets. The Mayor is hereby authorized to
execute the City /County Agreement for maintenance and improvement of city streets on behalf
of the City of Coppell and to exercise the rights and duties of the City there under.
SECTION 3. This Resolution shall be effective immediately from and after its passage and
approval.
