PD98-NR 840914September 14, 1984
Dear Mr. Brown, City Council Members, and Planning and Zoning
Members:
Please accept our signatures attached to this letter as an
indication for our support of the proposed zoning change by
the SBS Joint Venture on a 188-acre Eract of land known as
the Village of Cottonwood Creek. This case is scheduled to
come before the Planning and Zoning Commission September 20,
1984, and the City Council October 23, 1984.
We believe that the mixed-use development planned for the
site will better suit the long-range plans for the City of
Coppell as opposed to some industrial use as current zoning
permits, with the balance of single family, elementary school
site, multifamily, and retail uses as described. The
incorporation of single family homes, as well as the
preservation of the trees and creek as a greenbelt, will
enhance the quality of life for our neighborhood and area,
better than the current light industrial zoning.
We also encourage the passage of this zoning request for the
increased tax base the development would provide. This would
provide more revenue to the city for the increased services
we will continue to need as our town moves in a positive
growth position.
Thank you for your consideration of this matter and for your
hard work for the City of Coppell.
Signed,
