1. I went out to the site and visited with the homeowner, lhere is 20'-5" from
the rear of the residence to the edge of an appmxin~tely 20 x 20' concrete
parking pad. Our office responded to a complaint of construction without a
permit and observed fids carport being constructed in violation of the zoning
provisions for carports specifically with regard to setback requirements. The
adjacent neighbor has constructed a two car enclosed garage upon virtually an
identical property legally and in conformance with all zoning provisions. We do
not see why this resident cannot do this as well.
In addition the carport does not n~ct the structural requirements of the building
for beam and joist griders and much of the finning will have to be redone in any
event O~aer plans to install garage door in place of fence at rear.
2. Comments are as follows: does not n~ct minimum rear setback mtuirements,
No storage for two automobiles- car would have to stop in alley to lift garage
door. Work in violation of building code and started without permit Mason~
