RE: Monument Siren
Dear Tony:
At the City Council Meeting held Tuesday, August 13, 1996, a monument sign less than 40
square feet for McDonald's was approved. This sign must meet all City requirements for
signage.
Although the monument sign elevation submitted for consideration of PD-157, Valley Ranch
Plaza, measures 40 square feet, the proposed height of 5 feet does not conform with the Sign
Ordinance. I am enclosing Section 294 of the Sign Ordinance which refers to monument signs.
Please note that under 2(A) it states that only the name, logo, address, product or service of the
establishment is allowed and that reader boards are prohibited other than for governmental and
religious organizations. Therefore, please revise your monument sign to conform with the City's
requirements and submit three (3) copies of the revised elevations as soon as possible so that an
Ordinance can be drawn up.
