Coppell Hieh School. zoning change request from C and SF-12 (Commercial and Single-Family-12) to PD-C (Planned Development, Commercial) was recommended for approval by the Coppell Planning and Zoning Commission on Thursday, April 20, 2000, subject to the following conditions: 1) Incorporating into this Planned Development the special exceptions and variance granted by the Board of Adjustment as follows: Special Excevtions: a) To allow the size of the new' parking spaces to be 9-ff. by 18-fl. b) To reduce the required parking spaces from 3,333 to 1,940. c) To permit a single row of parking to contain more than 15 parking spaces without a planting island. d) To approve 18 landscape islands with tree preservation to fulfill the 88 planting islands requirement, as well as allow the one tree requirement per planting island be planted along the northern edge of the proposed parking pavement. e) To allow' some parking islands to be under the minimum area of 150 sq. ft. and a minimum width of 9-fl. f) To allow the four rows of parking by the tennis courts with handicap parking spaces to not have the planting islands at the northern end. Variance: a) To authorize concrete planting islands, as opposed to landscape islands, at the end of each row of parking. 2) Requirement of a 6'-high brick wall as indicated on your Site Plan with hedges on the outside of the wall and buffer trees to be planted 40' on center on the inside of the wall. An irrigation system shall be provided to keep all landscaping in a healthy and growing state. The date scheduled for consideration by the Coppell City Council is Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at 7:30 p.m. A representative for this case must be present at this meeting. Failure to represent this item may result in the denial of this application. City Council has instructed staff to include in its agenda packets only those items that accurately reflect conditions as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission. Therefore, please revise and/or submit to the Planning Department 17 folded copies of the all exhibits on or before 12 noon, Wednesday, Al~ril 26th.
