CONSI;I.TING ENGINEERS
Pursuant to our recent telephone conversation regarding the above
referenced project and questions you had, we offer the following
comments.
The maintenance bond shall be 10%, as stated in the Subdivision
ordinance. The City has no "standard" form. The bonding company
can provide that for the Contractor on the project.
The City does have an ordinance, we believe, that prohibits work
on Sunday. Any requests for variances to that ordinance will have
to go before the City. You can check with City Secretary or
attorney for the ordinance.
There shall be no contractual agreement between the Contractor
and City on this project; but the City will need to inspect and
approve all parts of the construction.
When you send plans to the City for review, to help expedite
review time, please forward copies to us for review also.
It is our understanding you are bidding the grading and drainage
portion of the project on February 20, prior to final review/
approval by the City. You also indicated that award of contract
should be around February 24, and construction should begin
March 9, 1987. We have no objections to this, but as previously
mentioned, this work will be done at the Owner's risk.
Along with the City staff, we are willing to work with the
school system on the tight schedule of this project. Please
contact us if we can be of any assistance to you.
Sincerely,
H. Wayne Ginn, P.E.
