Walker and Regal Enterprises, L.L.C. and the respective purchaser, Belle Vista Homes, we are hereby respectfully requesting a nine (9) month extension of the preliminary plat approval. It is our understm~ding that this will appear before the City Council tbr action on August 11, 1998. This extension will allow us to proceed tbrward with the final platting and engineering on the property. Consider approval of a variance to alleviate alleys in proposed subdiViSion at the southeast corner Sandy Lake Road and Whispering Hilln. Presentation by Tim House and Michael Beste. Councilmemher Tunnell voiced her disappmvai in the way this item was handled. Councilmemher Sturges indicated he would vote for this item because of the unique circumstances surrounding this pa~Cll]:ir tra~t of land. Councilmember Sheehan complimented the developer and the property owners around this development for working together on this proposal. Mayor Morton complimented Council on their handling of this item. Councilmember Robertson moved to approve a variance to alleviate alleys in proposed subdivision at the southeast corner Sandy I ~lce Road and Whispering Hills. Councilmember Alexander seconded the motion; the motion carried 5-1 with Councilmembers Alexander, Sturges, Watson, Robertson, and Sheehan voting in favor of the motion and Councilmember Tunnell voting against the motion. Consider approval of the Georgian Place, Preliminary Plat, to allow ~l~ development of a 35-1ot residential subdivision on 9.48 acres of property, located at the southeast corner of Sandy Lake Road and Whispering l~lill~ Drive, appro~dm~tely 2,000 west of Denton Tap Road. City Manager Jim Wit~ announced he would he substituting for Mr. VLnanea on Item 15 and 16, and made a presentation to the Council. Councilmemher R~etUon moved to approve Georgian Place, Preliminary Plat, to allow the development of a 35-1ot residential subdivision on 9.4§ acres of property, lo~at,~ at the southeast corner of Sandy I a~ Road and Whispering Hills Drive, approximately 2,000 west of Denton Tap Road and approve that the Planning and Zoning Commission be the authority responsible for the approval of the Final Plat of Georgian Place. Mayor Pro Tern Mayo seconded the motion; the motion camed 7-0 with Mayor Pro Tern Mayo and Counci]members Alexander, Sturges, Watson, Tunnell, Robert.son, and Sheehan voting in favor of the motion. 16.
