Re: Proposed relocation of Belt Line Road
Dear City Council Members,
This letter is written regarding the status of improvements to Belt Line
Road between 1-35 and Denton Tap Road. Northlake Woodlands a joint Venture
~composed of S.C. Parsons Inc. and Troth Enterprises Inc. has been developing
land for residential home sites in Coppell since 1974. Since the beginning,
12 years ago, one of the most critical improvements needed and requested
in this area has been the widening of the bridge and paving of this portion
of Belt Line.
The people who use this Road daily were very anxious to see the passage of
last April's County Bond Election which assured them that this project would
be started and completed in the very near future. To date, no physical pro-
gress has been made on this project and it has come to our attention that an
alternate location for Belt Line is now being considered.
It is our desire to see this road built as soon as possible and in its present
location. The consideration of an alernate location should have been made
years ago and is now causing extensive delays.
The population growth in this part of the County is increasing at a very rapid
rate and we hope that the completion of this project can take place soon, in
