Dear Dennis:
This letter is to advise you and your client, Prenfiss Properties, to submit a tax abatement
application for the Lake View Center located at the northwest corner of Belfline Road and
Wrangler Drive. The City urges all companies to apply the year any construction is initiated to
ensure they are eligible to take full advantage of the benefits of the abatement program. The
application review process is lengthy, and the applicant should allow several months to secure a
tax abatement from the City. In order for your client to qualify for any future tax savings, a tax
abatement document must be approved by City Council no later than December 8, 1998.
For your information, the Economic Development Partnership Board, which reviews economic
development related matters including tax abatement applications, meets the first Wednesday of
each month. We recommend that Prentiss Properties submit to staff a completed tax abatement
application by September 30, 1998. This will allow staff to review the application and nm a
cost/benefit analysis before placing the item on the October 7, 1998 Economic Development
Partnership agenda.
